Walter has been doing 1st and 3rd Friday chess for more than a quarter century!  The club is open to the public and meets at the Latter Day Saints Church at 10660 Duryea Richmond 23235.  It’s right off Heugenot and Old Gun Roads.  Yes, this is the club that used to meet at the Bon Air Library.   It’s Free and you can get an unofficial rating.  The competition starts at age 4 and goes all the way up and the competition starts at beginner and goes all the way up to expert.  Play is in a quad format for the stronger players and a round robin for the lower rated and beginners so there won’t be any standing around.  The club attracts regulars like Jack Barrow, Brian Garbera, Mike Callaham, Jason Morefield, Ray Fletcher, Fabio, Charles Chen, Ryan Balser, Nitin Kanuri, Sriharsha Sambangi, and many other rated players.  This is the ultimate family venue.  It gets 5 out of 5 stars.  If you finish clear 1st or clear 2nd you win a prize!  Here are a few of games just to wet your appetite!
